Auburn Community Food Drive
Welcome to the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet Website!
Recipe of the Month
The main purpose of the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet is to provide nutritious food to individuals and families who do not have sufficient resources to purchase it themselves. This group includes low income workers, seniors, disabled, unemployed, homeless, and people in transition. We utilize the USDA nutrition guideline to ensure the families receive the right types of foods.
We are a ministry outreach for our faith-based congregations and volunteers. We care about our community, the people we serve and our volunteers. We collaborate with other organizations that support our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Our volunteers come from our sponsoring congregations; we have no paid staff.
Private donations are our main source of funds. We are a non-profit public benefit corporation 501 (c) (3); and, therefore, all donations are tax deductible.
September is Hunger Action Month
The Auburn Interfaith Food Closet and The Auburn Salvation Army are partnering together to fight hunger in the Auburn community during the month of September. Feeding America estimates that in Placer County about 12 ½% have difficulty placing healthy food on their tables. You can help us by volunteering to serve in an Auburn Community Food Drive or by donating food or dollars. Every action counts!
