The heart of our operations is the warehouse, where the volunteer staff receive, sort and store food, while others prepare a client order. Even though the new facility is slightly smaller, the warehouse area is larger and more open. New arrangement of shelves will enhance the workflow for staff selecting items to fill an order. All the ‘ready to use’ refrigeration units are grouped together to improve access. The receiving area for small and large donations will have easy access from the outside and quick distribution paths on the inside. The staff toilet is centrally located and not longer shares janitorial space. The client area can be realigned to support large group meetings, while a small meeting space within the office area is also provided.
