‚ÄčUSDA Food Group Guidelines

The U. S. Department of Agriculture Choose My Plate guides the types of food that we provide to each family. There are four basic groups that make up the food guideline: Protein, Dairy, Fruit, Vegetables, and Grains. Other types of foods are considered "extras". Food Groups are designed by gender and age.  The AIFC uses the pattern for males between 31-50 years and children ages 4-8.
